A Message from The President
Welcome to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph!
At St. Joseph’s Guelph, our mission is to create a welcoming environment where everyone, without distinction, feels cared for and has access to the programs and services they need. To us, kindness is very important, and the little things matter. Every person we care for is like a member of our family and therefore our staff members are committed to providing excellent care. Many staff members work hard behind the scenes to ensure that we operate effectively while keeping our buildings clean, safe, and well-maintained. No matter where we work across the organization, we are dedicated to serving with compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. This is who we are.
We know that we are not perfect, so listening is an important part of the way we approach care. We seek feedback to help us continuously improve and we are thankful for the learning and partnership we receive from our residents, patients, clients, and their loved ones. Thank you for trusting us to care for the people you love. We are honoured to serve you.
Understanding the needs of our community is central to our work and we pay special attention to those most vulnerable. For that reason, we have grown from providing hospital services to adding long term care beds and more recently, building mixed-income housing for seniors in our community. We are proud to provide essential community-based services in the Guelph and Fergus area.
We will continue to grow and form new partnerships because nothing is more stressful for our teams than seeing an individual that we are unable to help. This means that we are constantly challenging ourselves to serve more people with the same number of dollars. We share this challenge with other wonderful community partner organizations that provide health care, social care, food, housing, education, research, and friendship. This is not a complete list of all those who care. At St. Joseph’s Guelph, the difference between success and failure is embodied in the crucial role played by our volunteers, to whom I extend my sincere gratitude for their invaluable contribution.
My final thoughts are with our leaders in the community who have supported us and the donors who give through our Foundation. This includes our hardworking politicians at all levels of government, business leaders, other service providers, and the members of the community who give what they can – however big or small. It is the people at St. Joseph’s Guelph who enable us to create new services, serve more people, and help us keep the wheels on the cart – thank you.
Sincerely,
John
