Our Stories
Our storytelling started with a film about Gloria’s journey at St. Joseph’s
Gloria has many connections with St. Joseph’s. Watch how she continues to experience compassion, care and courage at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.
Voices of Compassion storytelling event
Voices of Compassion is a celebration of the inspiring people and inspired care at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph. It is fitting to launch Voices of Compassion during our 160th anniversary to reflect on the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s who founded St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.
We are proud to share these 21 stories submitted by staff, volunteers, patients and family members. Each story is unique and showcases the moments that make St. Joseph’s special. Nineteen stories are included in this booklet; two stories were made into films and the links to each of the films are below.
FILM: Comforting and nutritious meals that help heal
Food is an important part of people’s care at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph. Our dedicated food services staff diligently prepare meals for all 350-plus residents and patients at the Health Centre, 365 days a year. It takes a genuine team effort – from assessing dietary needs and preferences, to preparing much of the food right in our kitchen with fresh, wholesome ingredients. Our kitchen staff prepare and serve meals that provide comfort and nourishment for St. Joseph’s patients and residents.
FILM: The People of St. Joseph’s
We often hear that St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph is different. We learned more about what makes working at St. Joseph’s a unique experience when we asked team members from across the organization: what makes them proud about the work they do; what makes working at St. Joseph’s special; and, what they would want to share with others about working at the Health Centre. Their responses are thoughtful, inspiring and heartwarming.
