Founded in 2009, St. Joseph’s Housing Corporation Inc. Guelph, is a non-profit charitable organization and has been designated as a charitable organization with the charitable registration no. 812319499 RR0001.

The Housing Corporation’s objective is to relieve the infirmities of old age including by providing and operating non-profit seniors’ residential accommodation along with associated recreation, education, cultural activities and other programs and such services as housekeeping, meal preparation, nursing and shopping assistance.

The Board of Directors of the Housing Corporation is comprised of eight Directors: two elected Directors at large, who live or work in Wellington County, three Directors appointed by the Board of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph, and three Directors appointed by the Board of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.

 

The Residences of St. Joseph’s

In 2011, The Housing Corporation built an 80-unit affordable housing apartment building for seniors (“Affordable Housing”) under the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) -Ontario New Affordable Housing Program with the Corporation of the County of Wellington as the Service Manager. The Housing Corporation has been operating the Affordable Housing known as The Residences of St. Joseph’s in Guelph, Ontario since 2012.

Silver Maple Seniors Community Project

The new 28-unit semi-detached Silver Maple Townhomes and 87-unit Silver Maple Apartments are our latest effort to provide mixed-income non-profit residential accommodations for seniors in Guelph. Along with the existing Residences of St. Joseph’s, these new developments will become the new Silver Maple Seniors Community.
