The complex medical program at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph (SJHCG) provides 24-hour, residential nursing care and personal support to patients with complex medical needs. People with severe disabilities or progressive illnesses may turn to complex medical when their needs cannot be met in the community or in a long term care facility.

The program supports patients, who range in age from young adults to seniors, to reach their optimal health with the goal of enhancing their quality of life.

Our highly skilled team of healthcare professionals have extensive experience caring for patients with complex medical, physical, social, and emotional challenges that are often associated with long term illness and disability. The multi-disciplinary team can include nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, recreation therapy, and spiritual care. Together with the patient and family, the team creates a personalized care plan based on the patient’s unique goals.

SJHCG has 30 beds dedicated to patients with complex medical needs.
