About the Health Centre

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph (SJHCG) is a leader in providing outstanding health care and support to clients (residents, patients, participants), families, and the broader community we serve. Our programs and services support people of all ages who need rehabilitation, complex medical, or long-term care. We also provide community outreach programs that help people, including those living with dementia or frailty, manage their conditions while staying active in the community.
Inspired by the Sisters of St. Joseph, we embrace a holistic care philosophy that supports each person’s mind, body, and spirit throughout their health care journey. Guided by our mission of Unstoppable Compassion, our dedicated and highly skilled team of health care professionals, staff, and volunteers focus on the unique needs of each person while maintaining and respecting their privacy, choice, dignity, and independence.
SJHCG is set on more than 44 park-like acres in northwest Guelph. Our beautiful 200,000-square foot, 346-bed community provides a safe, welcoming, and home-like atmosphere. With plenty of green space and fully accessible gardens, our health centre is a source of pride for staff, clients, and our community. Everyone is encouraged to respect our smoke-free policy.
In our most recent accreditation survey, we received the highest honour possible for quality and safety standards – Accredited with Exemplary Standing. We also earned the 2016 Service Award for Geriatric Excellence for providing high-quality, best-practice care and demonstrating exceptional dedication, leadership, and innovation.

Territorial Acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is situated upon Treaty Land of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation of the Anishinaabek Peoples.
The territory is mutually covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant to peaceably share and care for the land and resources around the Great Lakes.
Today, these remain the home to many Indigenous people and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this community. We also acknowledge that the settler population has been able to benefit from this beautiful land.
