Newer Building - our current building was opened in 2002 and boasts many bright spaces with windows, and two beautiful courtyard gardens for eating meals. All patients' rooms are fitted with ceiling lifts to assist with patient transfers and patient room doorways are wide enough to fit client beds through if needed.

Benefits - A range of benefits, including life insurance, dental, and extended health are available to full time staff. A part time/casual benefit program is available to staff.

Paid Holidays - In addition to the Statutory Holidays, the Health Centre also provides Civic and Remembrance Day off with pay (for eligible staff).

Defined Pension Plan (HOOPP) – eligible employees of St. Joseph's are enrolled in the HOOPP pension plan. For every dollar an employee contributes to the plan, SJHCG contributes $1.26.

Employee Assistance Program - Employees at St. Joseph’s are provided with access to a voluntary and confidential professional counseling service to help employees deal with a wide variety of personal concerns.

Quality of Work Life – St. Joseph's has established a Quality of Work Life Program that looks at issues that effects the balance between work and life.

Vacation – Full time employees receive a minimum of 3 weeks vacation after 2 years service. Vacation entitlement may vary for certain employee groups.

On-site fitness room – Staff at SJHCG are able to use the fitness room located in our physiotherapy department free of charge.

Memberships – Costco is on site twice a year to offer memberships to staff.

Committees

Social Committee – organizes events and activities for staff, including a staff Christmas party and a children's Christmas party.

Professional Practice Committee – Plans a celebration for Nurse’s Week each year, and acts as a forum where best practice, ideas, and concerns that affect professional nursing practice can be addressed. RN’s, and RPN’s are welcome!

Wellness Committee – meets monthly to promote wellness at SJHCG through various initiatives and education, everyone is welcome to join!

Other committees include -Joint Health & Safety, Pharmacy, Infection Control, and more depending on your interests.

Consignment Tickets – discounted tickets are available each summer on line for Canada’s Wonderland and Ontario Place to all SJHCG staff and their families.
