Rehabintro.jpgRehabilitation is a word with many meanings at St. Joseph's.  It could mean a grandmother regaining her independence after a stroke, a father being able to return to work after a serious accident, or a little boy overcoming a stutter.
St. Joseph's is a leading provider of specialized in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation services for the people of Guelph, Wellington County and surrounding area.
Through our multi-disciplinary team approach, we work hard to incorporate the latest advances in rehabilitation science, methods, treatments, and technology into the therapies we provide so that our patients can achieve their goals.
In-patient - St. Joseph’s offers both short- and long-term in-patient rehabilitation services to adults of all ages who need general rehabilitation for neurological or orthopedic conditions that impair function.

Out-patient - St. Joseph's offers hospital-funded out-patient rehabilitation services for children and youth under the age of 19.  Funder services are also available for patients requiring physiotherapy services for an acute condition after release from an acute care or in-patient rehab hospital if they are referred by a staff physician upon discharge.  Patients usually come to us after orthopedic surgery, after treatment for a fracture or dislocation, or treatment for neurological conditions, especially if they present a high risk for falls.  They also come to St. Joseph's for our eight-week COPD education and exercise program.
