Who We Are

A Message from our President

David_Wormald_(2).jpgAs the President of St. Joseph’s Health Centre, I feel privileged to work with staff, physicians, and volunteers for whom our core values are an everyday commitment to providing the best, most respectful and individualized care.  St. Joseph’s Guelph has stepped up time and again to meet the diverse and changing needs of this community, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead such a dedicated, mission-driven team.

In 1992, when St. Joseph’s embraced its mandate to be a centre of excellence in long-term care, complex continuing care, and rehabilitation, the organization made a commitment to our community to continue in the spirit, tradition and service of the Sisters of St. Joseph that has exemplified St. Joseph’s Health Centre throughout its long history.  At St. Joseph’s we have one mission that lives in the hearts of our physicians, staff, and volunteers. Consistent with the St. Joseph’s mission, we respect and embrace the cultural, religious, and spiritual diversity of all those we serve.

We're always conscious that many of our residents and patients consider St. Joseph’s to be their home or a place of comfort or of healing. We're striving to be the best that we can be as we work to meet the expectations of our community – today and tomorrow.

Through our community programs, clinics, and research we're exceeding the commonly understood definition of care for the people we serve – from the toddler struggling to overcome a stutter to the great-grandmother who needs a little help to maintain her independence and quality of life in the community. In every season and in every stage of life, St. Joseph’s is working to serve you, your family and your community better.

We've created this Web site to give you quick, up-to-date information about our programs and services. Your questions and comments are very important to us, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have a comment or require additional information.
