The Dietary Aide is accountable for the final preparation and service of safe, nutritious and attractive meals to residents and visitors. Dietary Aides in the serveries are responsible for setting, stripping and cleaning of tables for meal times. This position assists in dishwashing by bringing the dirty dishes to the main kitchen as assigned.  Position interfaces strongly with residents, nursing staff, and family/visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Food Service Worker (FSW) training program offered by Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts & Technology
  • Food Handler’s Certificate (Required)
  • Previous food service experience in health care setting an asset
  • Portioning in the production area may be part of this position
  • Good attendance record
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a time pressured, fast paced environment throughout the day
